Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We were in school like a normal day not knowing what was to come. We thought we would be out for a few days. Most of the students took home a library book to use for remote learning if it came to that. It did come to that and more! My seniors will miss out on so many activities like their trip, breakfast, and more. We didn't even get to say goodbye.
My Project
Imagine going throughout your day with a rumbling stomach as a teenager. I couldn't, so I set up a Snack Station for the students in my library office. They would come to me throughout the day for a snack, often asking "Ms. A, did you restock?"
I want them all to succeed and if a cup of ramen will help, so be it.
With this project, I will be able to add easy to make food items to the "Feel Good" bags that I will distribute to students while they are learning from home. I know they will be forever grateful for these donations. Let's help these awesome students get back to learning vs. being "hangry"!
