My students are diverse, warm, caring, and have the biggest, loving hearts. The students I serve are third-grade elementary level students who have many reasons for needing extra care academically, socially, and emotionally. Ninety-eight percent of the students at our school are at the poverty level. A good portion of my classroom (90% of my students) are minority students, and many of my students also have special and unique learning and behavioral needs.
Our students have so much to overcome, but they are smart, resilient, and just need a little extra support to thrive.
Meeting basic needs first will help them to be able to reach their goals. Together, with your help, we can inspire them to know their worth, conquer all, and make great gains!
We want to teach them that they can make a difference and that we are here to help them do that. One way to teach them is to show them that we care and that we can help make a difference for them by helping to meet their basic needs for experiential learning.
My Project
My students are so beautiful and wonderful and also hungry! Every day students get to have a snack while reading, but many days many of my students do not have snacks to bring from home.
Students who get to have a snack each day feel fed, happy and most of all loved.
The variety of snacks will help feed them and help them to get through the day. The small round containers will contain little bonus snacks or extra incentives they can earn. Takis and treats are for birthday celebrations and for incentives earned.
These amazing kiddos know that they are cared for and that people care enough to help them out by providing healthy snacks for them to eat while at school.
These snacks will provide students with what they need to get through each day. With the toughest year ever for students and for teachers, these comfort things like food are just so very important to them! Thank you for thinking of us and for your kind consideration!
