Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are very special. They have touched me with how genuine they are and how big their hearts are. They come from all over the world with very diverse backgrounds and they are not only accepting of each other's differences but they celebrate it.

It is my goal to provide a top of the line education to tomorrow's future through art.

Art has been proven to be a method of therapy and it has aided in helping thousands of people.

My Project

It is important to me that my students understand how literacy can be important in art and not just ELA or Social Studies. By providing these resources you will give them material that is easily accessible and relatable to the content and their age.

Over half of my students come from low income households and by providing food for them and it is showing my students that I care not only about their education but their well being as well.

So many of my students are faced with the struggle of being hungry in school but then they are expected to be able to learn. Snacks and water can give my students the energy to be able to read a scholastic article. It is the small things that are big. How can a student focus if he or she is hungry?
