This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
During this school year, the students have done community service projects with children in childcare centers and given their time to others in the community. These students are in the 9th-12 grade and they are FCCLA (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America) members, and I am their advisor and teacher.
"It takes a village to raise a child" is a proverb which means that it takes an entire community of different people interacting with children in order for children to experience and grow in a safe environment.
The students are in the 9-12th grade and enrolled in my child development class. The students enjoying snacking but they are interested in learning how to make snacks that are healthy for them and their family. I love the idea of them wanting a more healthy snack and introducing it to their family is very special.
It is said that "You are what you eat" so if they strive to eat healthily then they will become healthy.
My Project
My Contemporary Health students will be able to use these materials as a way of learning to make healthy life choices regarding their eating habits.
The lesson is a Snack Report Card students will identify, compare, and contrast information about different types of snacks.
This material will give them the opportunity to analyze different types of snacks that are healthy and they would not normally purchase.
This project gives them the learning opportunity to evaluate problems associated with unhealthy snacking and to learn to start snacking smart for a healthy life.
