This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a Kindergarten special education teacher that loves working with little ones. Our students come from many diverse cultures and backgrounds. They love to explore, play and create.
My students are Kindergartners learning in a MID self-contained classroom.
Our school is a neighborhood public school in which many students live within walking distance, and 90% of the population of which I serve has Autism, which ranges from moderate to severe. These students reside in high poverty communities. These students enjoy learning and interacting with their peers and familiar adults.
My Project
The snacks will be provided to students daily to help keep them energized and focused on their learning. Students will also receive crackers and juice if they miss breakfast.
My students will be able to increase their attention and sit longer than ten minutes without complaining about being hungry or asking if it is time for lunch.
The resources will aid in students making healthy decisions while decreasing the rate of obesity.This project will make a huge difference inside of my classroom. My students will learn the importance of making healthy food choices. Students will also learn how to properly handle food and differentiate between the taste of things when they are cold or hot.
The requested items will increase students' motivation and attention span by giving them the opportunity to work for edible rewards. Have the needed "life essentials" inside of the classroom is imperative for student success.
