Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in our special needs classes enjoy everything they are carefully led to. They trust their teachers and want to please them.
When new things are introduced with careful preparation, they will try it with excitement.
They receive lessons and try their best to use them at school and at home. When given the same food and the same activities they would be happy to repeat that everyday and not complain. They light up when a new experience surprises them.
My Project
Several of our students' families have limited ability to supply daily snacks and drinks. Parents are good at making sure our students have clothing and school supplies at the start of the year but supplies dwindle, and it is up to the teacher to provide.
The entire class would benefit from a supplied pantry when they need extra nutrition during the school day.
Having fruit juice available on hot days and extra crackers or granola bars when kids haven't brought anything for the day. A fully stocked shelf of cleaning supplies for kids to take care of their spaces needs regular re-stocking.
