My Students
Inquisitive, wonderfully inspired, and energetic; this describes my busy little kindergarten students in a high-needs urban area. 90% of the students qualify for Title I services. All of my students qualify for free lunches. The majority of my little students consist of English Language Learners and the remaining of my students come from other diverse backgrounds.
Each day, all of my adorable little students come to school excited and eager to learn.
Although many speak the English language, they may have a limited vocabulary. Living in a low poverty area, the majority of my students do not experience the world outside their neighborhoods.
My Project
My students need snacks including, granola bars, Cheez-It crackers, and pretzels to get us through our morning before lunch. Many of my students do not come to school early enough for breakfast and some do not eat before they come to school. Due to our lunch schedule many of my students are requesting something to eat before lunch.
Snacks before lunch will allow my little kindergarten students to focus on learning and not their rumbling tummies.
I would like to be able to offer a snack to my kindergarten students, because sitting in school hungry does not allow my students to concentrate. With this donation, I feel like the students will become more active learners and focus on the task at hand.
