Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My high school is located in the city of Providence, RI. Most of the students come from a low socioeconomic background. Over 95% of the students at my school qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Several of my students come from single-parent homes, and a few come from group homes.
I teach students with a variety of learning disabilities.
I am responsible for meeting the needs of 20 students in the areas of Math, Science, History, and English Language Arts. My best day is graduation day when I am able to see my Seniors walk the stage and accept the degree they’ve been working toward for four years!
My Project
My students are in grades 9 -12. I have a variety of learners that I service on my Special Education caseload. I work to meet their needs to perform as their typical peers.
When students are hungry they are not able to concentrate and do their best work.
Having these Frito snacks, Nestle Pure Life bottled water, Ultimate Snack Package, and Healthy Snack Care Package will enable me to have my students feeling full and energized when taking assessments to show what they know.
I teach in an area where having extra snacks from home is not an option. The teachers at my school chip in and purchase boxes of snacks for our students throughout the school year. Our students are very grateful when they receive snacks and water to help them focus. Thank you for helping me to provide these needed food and drink items for my learners.
