This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach at a model school that incorporates performing arts, visual arts, coding, computer science, financial literacy, and STEM (STEAM) within the curriculum. Our urban school receives federal funding for programs that provide free breakfast and lunch for every student, and Title I services to economically disadvantaged boys and girls.
We are a class that includes military families, gifted/talented students, ESL/ELL students, inclusion/special education students, and the tech savvy.
My students are energetic and very busy within the classroom. Even with parental support, I would love to say that my students have everything that they need to be successful. But they don't. We are preparing students for college, the workforce, and the world beyond, so they can have a better life.
My Project
I am requesting a variety of snacks and treats for my students who will be participating in our I/E program. The program stands for Intervention and Enrichment instruction for all students. These sessions will happen at the same time for all students in any subject, content or interest. After moving around to build a stable academic foundation, my students get hungry. They need a snack to get them back on track. We try very hard to provide everything that our students will need, but sometimes we need help. We are grateful that our parents are supportive of this initiative. Please make a difference in the lives of my students. I want them to be able to focus on their studies and not worry about being hungry. Please help them to be the best that they can be.
This is a small request that will make a huge difference in their day.
Sometimes it's the little things that matter the most. Please help and keep our students' focus on learning for a better future and tomorrow.
