I am learning how to more effectively teach themes that engage students in a way that is more interesting than traditional teaching methods. In an attempt to empower twenty-first century learners, constant reinforcement of information is so important. My students, being NYC students, need to know how the world around them works.
They need a way to review the content and topics that interest them in a format that they will find interesting.
They are in this three year Law Academy hoping to leave it with a love for law. Students learn best when they themselves can learn in an environment where they have information that best speaks to their interests. Learning about the law can be dense; learning through reading about important concepts, they will connect with the content.
I want my students to be able to make sense of the world around them. We, as educators, need to find more ways to relate the content to something they know. Please don't allow my students to have this limitation in their education. Please help my students to be able to learn in a way that is more comfortable and suitable for their
My Project
Students like taking part in extracurricular activities, but students, especially teens are growing and growing children need sustenance. I have students who frequently take part in law-based extracurricular activities and I often hear them discuss borrowing a dollar for a snack or asking if another student could share their snack with them.
I would like to make sure that if a student wants to participate in an afterschool activity, that at least they could have a snack to get them through those extra few hours of voluntary school-time.
I want my kids to have a snack without remembering to have any extra money on them.
