Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am the lucky teacher of a group of twenty wonderful students. They are awesome and I tell them that daily! They are a group of hard working, diverse learners who come from working class families. I also instill in my classroom that we are a family; we all work together as a team!
Giving my students as many opportunities as possible is a major goal in my classroom!
Of those twenty, six are English learners, two receive resource services and two are in speech. They all have positive attitudes and outlooks and do their best to contribute to our classroom community!
My Project
As simple as it sounds, my students are in need of healthy snacks! A big portion of my students receive free or reduced lunch and their parents cannot afford to send them with a snack to eat.
One of my goals as a teacher is being able to provide my students with a fair learning environment and providing the students who need a snack would help me reach this goal.
My students will benefit significantly from this project. Being able to provide them with a snack to eat during the day will increase their productivity and attention while doing classwork. I notice a huge difference in those students who eat a snack versus those who don't. I know how grateful they will be if this project gets funded!
