My Students

My students are part of a very small school community in a very rural area. We are also considered a high-poverty school. Our school has an awesome, small community atmosphere. We care about each other and it is common to hear students asking teachers about their weekend or how their family is and vice versa. My students are hard-working, inquisitive and love to learn. They strive to do their very best every day. One of the best things about our school is our amazing students!

My Project

We are a four day a week school so we have longer days to make-up for our Mondays off. We are in school until 8-4. Most of students live too far from school to run home before sports practice or other afterschool activities. This means for a lot of students the last time they eat is at lunchtime.

This project would give my students protein bars to snack on before sports practices or other afterschool activties.

Students can focus more on getting homework done or doing well in practice if they have a snack before they start! Nobody wants to be hangry!!
