Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students live in one of the poorest sections in the Bronx. As English language learners, they are so eager to learn. Many of my students qualify for free and reduced lunch. Often times students are hungry or come to school with unhealthy foods. Despite their circumstances, students are ready to learn every day.
My Project
Serving healthy snacks helps students with better concentration. Many of my students do not eat school lunch. Therefore, providing them healthy snacks would maximize performance in the classroom.
Healthy snacks mean a healthy lifestyle!
I want to do the best that I can to make sure our children are successful at home, at school, and in life. While back-to-school is a very busy time for students, parents, and teachers alike, spending some time talking about healthy snacks can potentially make a big difference and can help avoid eating less unhealthy foods.
