My Project

SMSHS’s PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) program was implemented to assist students with engaging in positive behaviors which ultimately help them be successful in the classroom. Part of our program is our check-in, check-out intervention, or CICO. Students in the CICO program receive extra support and earn a number of points each day for meeting their behavior expectations. When students meet a minimum number of points, they are rewarded to encourage continued positive behavior. The requested items will provide students a variety of choices to honor their good behavior; smaller rewards like individual candies and pieces of gum will be a daily reward, while larger rewards like snack packets and fidgets will be rewarded after multiple days of met goals. Students also indicated adult praise and positive feedback on schoolwork as rewarding, so the incentive stickers will boost student morale and remind them of a job well done. Thank you for contributing to our students' success in the classroom!
