Smoothie-ing Our Way to Profit

My Students

My students live in a very small, rural town. There are approximately 20 students per grade and it is a 7-12 jr. high/high school building. It is a very strong, supportive community and education is very important to them. There is a lot of school pride, and it's very easy to teach here because the students are very well behaved and respectful. They aren't afraid of a challenge and they have dreams and plans for their futures. They are a very driven group of kids and I believe this is greatly due to the support they receive from their parents, school, and community.

My Project

My classes are mostly vocational classes and include a lot of "hands-on" activities and labs. This can get very expensive, so we are trying to incorporate ways for our students to create businesses to help offset our expenses.

My students are making plans to create a "Smoothie and Parfait" bar that students will have access to for a healthy take-and-go breakfast in the mornings.

We chose this because the only extra expense we will concur, that is above our budget, is a blender. By helping us fund this blender, you will be helping them bring success to their business plans.
