My Students
I am a teacher in a low income school in a high poverty area where the students in my class encounter many challenges in and out of the classroom. About 50% of our students are Hispanic. For many of them, their home language is not English. My students are performing far below grade level in reading and writing. They need instructional resources that strengthen their deficiencies.
These students are very motivated to learn and excel, but they lack the skills and resources to accomplish those goals.
With extra support within the classroom, I feel these students will become life long learners. I hope to create meaningful learning opportunities for my students that will inspire them to achieve academic excellence.
My Project
We want our students to be engaged and focused as much as possible with little down time. Transitions are one of the most challenging times where valuable instructional time may be lost. Wireless headphones and flexible seating stools will help meet this need.
We need the coat hanger hooks to properly store their coats and book bags.
Headphones and stools will make the iPad center run smoothly. With these items, students will have less down time between transitions. Coat racks will ensure students have a specific place to store coats and book bags. The flexible seating stools will allow students to be flexible in choosing their workspace while the headphones help students to immediately get tuned into the instructional resources on their iPad without having to worry about cords or volume.
