Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are part of an Early Education Center which has 2- to 5-year-old children. In my classroom, I have 25 students ages 4 through 5, and I share a room with another group of 25 same-aged students.
Our program consists of children and families from diverse backgrounds.
Our top priority is to build a sense of community by embracing cultural diversity through positive interactions with each other. Many of my students have been together since toddler age, creating a bond through learning.
My classroom is a place where students feel a sense of belonging. They are confident and proud of becoming culturally sensitive human beings.
My students are very curious and eager learners who love to read books, pretend play, draw pictures, and express their creativity throughout the day by sharing, socializing and caring for each other. In my classroom, students are enhancing independence and knowledge that they will need as they enter kindergarten. My students enjoy learning while exploring the classroom environment and materials. Every day, my students are engaging in hands-on activities to incorporate their classroom learning with their real-life experiences.
My Project
Our preschool students deserve hands-on materials for their everyday learning. More than ever, our students need manipulative and tactile materials to extend their understanding of our creative curriculum studies. Currently, our classroom doesn't have enough hands-on materials for their learning. Construction sets, laundry sets, vet sets, and diversity books with pictures, and other resources will help my students keep up with their daily learning lessons.
These materials will encourage independence and motivation to my students for them to learn more about the topic of discussion.
