My Students

The students in the Arts AV Program at HHS have intentionally decided to leave their "school of record" to come to our career and technical institute to study the art of Media Communications. These students leave many of their Jr. High friends behind and add hours to their daily bus rides so they can pursue a meaningful career in Photography, Graphic Design, Video Production, Broadcast Journalism, etc. etc.

Whether it is the sons and daughters of college professors or the children of dog mushers who live in a dry cabin near the Alaska range, we meld them all together around the common mission of creating high level productions.

My Project

As video and broadcasting technology gets smaller and more accessible the task remains how to get students to capture truly great footage.

Cell phones provide a daily opportunity for students to become content creators.

However, nobody wants to watch shaky, poor quality videos. Camera gimbals like this one will help energize my students to really focus on shot composition and professionalism without having to worry as much about stabilization.

Furthermore, upcoming updates to our broadcasting software will allow us to incorporate cell phones into our growing number of accessible camera angles. Just imagine the unique and cool shots we can get using small profile devices like a cell phone to bring you even closer to all the stream team action.
