Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach students with a variety of unique needs. My classroom is comprised of students with IEPs (Individualized Education Program) and students who are at risk.
My students are creative, fun, and curious.
Preschool is often their first experience away from home. With that being said, I want to provide them with fun, hands-on learning experiences. My students love to use their hands to learn and explore the world. These new materials will allow them to do so!
The majority of my students come from low-income households and qualify for free or reduced-priced lunch. My students do not have the means to use technology on a daily basis. I want to best prepare them for the future. I hope that by having these materials readily available for them, they will become more comfortable and truly reap the benefits!
My Project
My students love to explore with their hands. Due to COVID, we have needed to change our routine and the way we play.
Our students need individual sensory kits to play and explore during center time.
The playdoh, sand, tools and kinectic sand will be a great addition to our sensory kits. During center time, the students are able to choose sensory experiences during their play time. Individual kits are what we are using. The students would love to have other sensory experiences that include the materials in this project!
