Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My first and second-grade students are hungry to learn, and I want to make sure they are able to receive the opportunities they deserve. Many of the children that come into my room struggle with sitting still and focusing. I teach second grade in a Title I school, where funding and access to technology and supplies are difficult to obtain. In the classroom, there are limited resources and tools to help these students succeed. I am also working in an environment where parents are not involved and the more opportunities I can give, the better.

My Project

The materials in this cart will help me move my students forward in their individual learning.

Currently my students are learning all virtually, I want to be able to offer them individualized instruction by breaking them into small groups.

The materials in this project, for example, the Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards and the sight word magnets, will allow me to work with students across the camera and let them have access to activities that will help move them forward. I also added non fiction books, and cards to help my students learn about text features, and other comprehension strategies.
