Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a teacher of 6th-8th grade students. All of my students are diverse learners. They have special needs ranging from mild learning disabilities to social/emotional difficulties. I teach math, science, and writing. My kids are from a working class, low-income area. We are a very family-oriented school and have great family involvement.
My kids benefit greatly from the enrichment that extra materials provide in the classroom.
We can grow in our learning if we just have the materials that we need.
My Project
For this project I am asking for snacks and juice for the students in my special needs class to eat before, during or after high stakes testing session. We are asking for juices and a variety of snacks including granola bars, goldfish and popcorn that middle-schoolers will enjoy.
A simple snack can increase focus and concentration on difficult tasks.
We also need items to clean tables in order to eat our snacks including disinfectant wipes and paper towels.
Simple items like food and drinks can help a student have a better day at school. My students will really appreciate these items very much.
