My Students

My students come from a low SES region in rural WV, but despite the location, we are home to the first Project Lead the Way Biomedical Science program in the state of West Virginia. This class requires a number of consumable items as well as full sets of specialized laboratory equipment to make our lab complete. These students are doing college-level work in high school and need the appropriate equipment.

Help us expand our program and give these students the proper tools they need to soar.

My Project

Currently, our interactive Smartboard is dated and no longer reliably functional. My students frequently give presentations and the existing model has outdated ports that do not match student computers as they only had HDMI ports available for presentation.

Our students cannot efficiently and effective give their lab presentations with the existing technology in the classroom.

In addition to their presentations, they also Skype with experts. This would allow increased participation as students will not have to gather around one laptop.

Additionally, we would be able to connect our classroom microscope to this television and examine/analyze tissue and bacterial samples together.
