I teach the STEM lab at my school, so I see ALL of our kiddos, K-5! We have a diverse group of students who come to my STEM lab ready to collaborate, communicate and become innovators together! They learn these skills as a result of our projects together in which they work as a team! They are AMAZING!
Each engineering project that we do starts with whole group lesson about a fictional child their age who is presented with a problem.
We then discuss the problem and then dive deep into the content that surrounds the problem that will be helpful to them during this engineering deign challenge. In order to do this, I like to use visuals such a maps, layouts, design plans and photographs to reiterate the environment the problem occurs in or needs of the challenge to catch their interest and engage them on a deeper level!
My Project
The use of projection and an interactive board are a daily activity in my classroom, especially when modeling and exploring with my students together. We need this Smart TV to clearly use educational tools and activities. The Smart TV function allows for educational applications to be displayed onto a board with a great visual for all students to see. The Apple TV will allow me, as the teacher, to "shoot" any images, videos, and or drawings onto the Smart TV and allow all students to see me model or explain or discover as we learn together! The TV mount will allow the Smart TV to hang on the wall for all students to see and give use to the Smart TV and Apple TV in combination together.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
Students will be able to see modeling of design plans, view things that already exist and explore our current world by viewing, testing and seeing items on a new Smart TV panel. Plus, in this technological world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology, thus pushing toward a generation of technological literacy.
