We are a diverse combination class of fabulous fourth and fifth graders who are amazing thinkers and are doing a wonderful job of fine tuning their collaboration, creativity, critical thinking and communication skills. One of our favorite subjects is science, especially when we have lots of hands-on activities to "do" science, not just learn it.
I am amazed each day with how these young scientists use their collaborative and critical thinking skills!
They love to present their work and strategies to their fellow classmates. The children are much more involved and hands-on when they are able to integrate technology with our lessons.
Just about every day you can see students in my classroom engaged in digital sources to enrich their learning in reading, math, science, social studies and writing. Unfortunately, we have noticed that our devices have been misused or gone missing while we were tracked out of our year-round classroom.
Your contribution to our project will help to secure our technology and insure that it will be available when we need it most.
A locking cabinet will allow us to secure our iPads after school and during track-out breaks.
In preparation for a new school year to begin in July, some of the iPad mini screens have been "well-loved" and need to be replaced. A little maintenance and cleaning will give our devices a longer life.
