This is the Deaf and Blind Magnet school in Oklahoma City with very high poverty and diversity. These students have multiple disabilities including blindness and low vision. Everyday they eat an afternoon snack. They have digestive issues we would like to address with specific types of snack.
Nuts and dried fruits will promote healthy digestion and give the students the energy needed to do their school work.
We also need some wipes to help us keep clean. When students are well-fed, healthy and happy they can learn more!
My Project
These snacks will promote healthy digestion and give the students the nutrition needed to do the hard work of learning and doing all their very challenging therapies.
The fruit will help promote healthy digestion.
The nuts will give protein for building strong muscles for learning to walk. The snacks will give them the energy needed to participate and improve in their academic skills. Nuts are already a favorite and we are going to find the fruits the students will enjoy. We hope these fruits will aid the students digestion.
The wipes help keep their hands, faces and our learning tools clean!
