My Students

My third graders are enthusiastic learners who make me smile daily. They love nothing more than having the time to choose the books they read, the stories they write, and the subjects they research. They embrace the opportunity to make those choices and to have a say in our classroom environment.

These kids are inquisitive, clever, and curious.

I work hard every day to give them every opportunity to challenge themselves and me to grow as learners and as people.

My Project

My third grade students are typical kids. They like to MOVE! I want to provide them with alternatives to typical classroom seating, which is often confining and uncomfortable.

Alternative seating, such as floor seats, lap desks and bean bags, allow students to move when they need to, which can actually improve attention and learning.

Though not all students will like or need a floor seat or bean bag, those who do should have what they need. By providing options, I am allowing students to choose the best seats for themselves, thereby giving them a say in the classroom environment and increasing agency.
