Mr. Womack from Janesville WI is requesting instructional technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a Smart TV for presentations to enhance, reinforce and develop their technology and digital scholarship.

Just like the city of Janesville is transitioning and trying to find it's identity after the closing of the General Motors plant, my students are also in transition. It's an exciting yet critical time for my students. I consider it a great privilege to walk with them during this time.
The uniqueness of my students is that they are highly engaged and accomplished with "hands-on tasks." Thier willingness to embrace their strengths, educational risk-taking, their aspirations, and determination is remarkable.
Engagement, engagement, engagement! How exciting it will be to increase student engagement to even a higher level than it is at present. Currently, I use a laptop, simple projector with a pull-down screen in a room not designed for content to teach Technology Education to 7th and 8th-grade students. With these humble resources, student engagement has skyrocketed. It's not the tool or resource, but how the tool is used. I'm eager to see how smart technology engagement would further increase participation and engagement in this technology education class. A smart TV will provide additional vocational reinforcement through the demonstrations and presentations allowing students to move and manipulate content on the screen instead of relying on the instructor. This will give every student, no matter their location or proximity in the classroom to view presentations and demonstrations clearly without obstruction. My students have shown a high competency for hands-on tasks where goals are first demonstrated through a video curriculum and demonstration. This addition to our classroom would not be just an addition of a piece of equipment, but it would be an addition to their learning and engagement.
