My Students
As an art teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, I know that my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences. I love to challenge my students. My students have a love for art, and they love to be challenged; however, due to budget cuts, we lack many supplies that can make class more engaging for them.
My Project
My students need paper to begin creating works of art. As a teacher in a low income city, I know my students are faced with many challenges. One of the many challenges they face are a lack of funding within the school system which in turns has an effect on the quality of education they are able to receive. We see many budget cuts happening in our school district. One of them being low funding for art. Having paper and markers are very important for art class because it is the basis to create most of our projects. With these supplies we will be able to create art!
