Smart Centers Need a Home

My Project

I want to give my students the freedom to learn about topics that interest them. For years I have dreamed of having smart literacy centers in my classroom. This takes planning and preparation, but once they are made students will benefit for years. A smart center consists of selection of quality literature, writing, hands on activities, and sometimes a project to create. Each center will have a selection of books both fiction and nonfiction, writing materials, crayons, paper, scissors, glue, and anything else they will need to explore and expand their learning. Right now many of our centers are in zipper bags, or baskets, things get easily lost.

By donating to my project, you will help you will help me give my students the opportunity to have some choice in their learning.

I need storage containers to house my smart centers. Ideally students would be able to walk over to a shelf, grab the smart center they want to work on, take it to a spot in the classroom to work and have everything they need.
