This coming school year I will teach four sections of Precalculus and one section of AP Physics to students. A number of students at my school are socioeconomically disadvantaged, belonging mostly to lower and middle-class families. Many are also first-generation immigrants and have English as their second language.
Students at my school have a lot of potential.
They are energetic and are willing to learn when given a lot of support, structure, and some incentives. They are also very creative and try their best every day.
My Project
The smart carts I'm requesting have built in sensors for measuring force, position, velocity, three axes of acceleration and three axes of rotational velocity. This is an ultimate tool for learning physics! Students are able to conduct laboratory experiments with ease and with minimal minimal error. With these smart carts students are able to investigate important physics topics such as momentum, dynamics and kinematics. The smart cart garage I've requested will help with storing and charging these smart carts.
Having access to smart carts will enable my physics students to engage in physics like never before.
With tools like these, my students can intuitively learn scientific concepts. Having this project fully funded would be a dream come true for my students.
