As a fourth year ENL teacher I'm looking to provide a comfortable, hands-on, cooperative learning environment for my ELL students as they begin to acquire the English language. I have noticed in the past few years, that our learners need to be moving while processing new information. Research shows that more " ACTIVE PLAY" will increase positive cognitive behavior and motivation amongst young learners.
Imagine what it would be like come to school for the first time and not be able to express yourself?
There are so many emotions bottled up inside that my students are trying to convey and sometimes are kinesthetic learners are viewed as behavioral. We need to guide these students to release the tensions they have inside WHILE learning a new language and kindergarten curriculum. In my school, we have two ENL teachers at my school and we provide ENL through integrated (co-teaching) and stand alone models of teaching.

We have to reach all of our learners and we tend to think the ACTIVE learners have behavior issues yet it's really their primary way of expressing themselves.
Why not reach those kinesthetic learners by active and engaged learning? By incorporating the Think & Learn Bikes in our curriculum, students will be stimulated, engaged and in return processing the new information easier. "Once we understand that movement IS a learning style, the more success we will have with kinesthetic learners."
