Welcome and thank you for considering our projects. We are deeply grateful.
We are a fifth-grade language arts classroom and have a diverse group of learners from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and needs.
We have a high number of Native American students, students new to the country, and military children as well. Many are facing the absence of basics such as reliable sources of food, housing, personal care products, and clothing. All children deserve support but our students would especially benefit from a community of people rallying around them. We are part of a wonderful school and district but resources are scarce and many of our students' families are unable to contribute materials or time to our classroom and creative resource obtainment is necessary. (I say this without judgment as these families are doing the best they can in difficult situations.) It is my hope that people find us here and decide to donate. The generosity of this community will allow us to gather valuable resources that will help inspire our students to further develop their literacy skills and therefore, make them even better able to grow and pursue their own personal passions.
Hello to all reading along today. I hope that everyone is staying safe and healthy. If you have a moment, I'd love for you to read on to learn more about the project shared here.
With this project, I am asking for a variety of materials to help keep our class organized and functioning smoothly with the list of requested items including a screwdriver and screw set, hook and loop tabs, paint markers, a hanging organizer unit and file folders.
The hanging shoe racks will be used for two purposes- one to hold student phones or other personal electronic devices or toys so they are not distractions during class and the other two for holding our Plicker student response cards. The screw driver and screw set is for making small repairs and adjustments around the classroom and for putting up organizers, displays, decorative items and other such pieces. I will use the hook and loop tabs to put items up in the room without damaging surfaces and to allow for easy repositioning. The file folders will be used to organize class resources as well as work and notices for absent students. Finally, the paint pens will be used to make displays and to clearly label our organizational racks and bins.
Your help will make a significant and positive impact on our class community and I will forever be grateful for your generosity. Please feel free to visit our page often to see what we are doing and how you can help. Thank you.
