Help me give my students pencils, stress balls, and working headphones to use each day in class to lessen the "stress" in school work and maximize instructional time by not having to worry about the "little" things.
I teach at a school in the heart of rural, central Kentucky. Most of my students come from low-income households and 100 percent of my students receive free breakfast and lunch each day. Amazing programs are put in place at my school that help students receive food, supplies, clothing, and other basic materials that help to meet their basic needs.
My students have big responsibilities at home, so they come to school ready to be loved and ready to LEARN!
They are critical thinkers, questioners, talkers, and LEADERS! They are growing and learning in a community that wants them to be successful and lead, always. With the right environment, influences, and resources, they will prosper and reach their goals!
My Project
The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will help my students feel successful and prepared for each day in the classroom. The pencils will be used by students every day to complete classroom assignments, assessments, and projects. The stress balls will be readily available to students each and every day to use as a positive way to relieve their stress at school. The headphones will be used daily by students when using technology. In a low-income school, my students cannot always afford to bring headphones from home. I want to provide simple things like pencils, stress balls, and headphones for my students so that they feel prepared and comfortable in my classroom each day.
My students have big responsibilities at home and they come to school seeking love and acceptance so, the donations to this project will help my students' feel comfortable and prepared for learning in my safe classroom.
As the teacher, I have done extensive research and made tremendous efforts to make my classroom a place for my students where safety, learning, and high expectations are a top priority.
