My 2nd grade classroom is a place where students come to learn what it means to be a good person, gain skills to succeed in life, and create lifelong experiences and friendships. They crave creative, engaging activities and projects.
These second graders come from many different backgrounds and lifestyles, but they all have big dreams!
My goal is to provide the best education I can for these students. I believe every single one was placed in my classroom for a reason and I will not let them down!
In a small, rural school, we don't have all of the resources yet to provide 1-1 technology to our students. My second graders can use Chromebooks in our classroom to research animals for our Animal Project, read books via online reading sites, record themselves reading a poem, or simply play a fun review game.
My students can utilize computers and coding robots to expand their knowledge and curiosity of topics learned in second grade as well as learn basic computer/coding skills.
We always hear that technology is the future. While some of my students will go on to pursue many different careers, I already see future software programmers, IT managers, web developers, or robotic engineers.
By providing more technology to my students, I aim to encourage those big dreams and fulfill their curiosity.
