My Students

My students are coming in August. They will be curious, eager, impetuous and excited to explore the classroom and meet friends. They will all be four years old. They will be turning 5 in September, October, and November. They will be eager to explore their new environment using all of their senses. They will all have their own unique ways of communicating and expressing themselves.

Children at this age will use big lego, connector cubes, play-dough, magnetic letters, and dramatic play clothing, dishes and puppets.

They will learn how to express their emotions of joy, anger, and sadness. They will have crafted a home for themselves in the cozy new classroom environment.

My Project

I’d like to differentiate my instruction. This kidney table will allow me to give my students the one on one support that they need to learn reading skills.

I will be able to have two students at each side of me.

The shape of the U allows me to check all four of the students work. I can quickly assess their learning and guide them in the best way for them to learn.

I can even have parents or other volunteers use the kidney table to do small group.

The intimacy of this small group structure will enable me to keep students on task who need help the most!
