Ms. Locke from Charlotte NC is requesting educational kits & games through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need a variety of station activities for math and reading centers, including intervention reading folders, math learning centers, a readers' theater script box, and more.

Each year I am excited to enter into the new school year. This coming year is even more exciting because my students and I will be starting the year in a new school!
My goal is to create a school and classroom environment that is inviting, engaging, meaningful and full of passion.
My classroom is a safe place where learning is fun but adds meaning to their lives.
Although I don't know my students yet, I already know that it is going to be such a special group of students! I cannot wait to meet them and see the unique qualities that they bring to our class. My students will be from a low income area and they deserve the best. Thanks to your donations, I will continue to be able to do whatever I can to help my students succeed and move on to be successful members of society.
I have not once met a student that does not enjoy learning when presented material in a way that is interesting to that student. The hardest part of being a teacher is finding a way to teach new material that captivates each and every student. I have found that having excellent core materials makes this job so much easier and allows for me to spend more time being creative with my lessons. These Lakeshore products for both reading and math do just that.
These materials will enhance my reading and math workshop and small group instruction.
This will be my first year teaching third grade. While I am excited for the new challenge, these resources will make the transition to a new school and grade level much more smooth. I believe in creating an environment in which my students are able to work independently and in small groups. In my small group instruction I will be able to use the show what you know task cards, find the error task cards, paired reading passages, solve and check cards, and intervention folders to help my students with what they need to be successful. These materials will reach my students that are performing below grade level as well as my students that are performing on and above grade level. While I am working with targeted groups, the reading comprehension activity stations, math instant learning centers, and readers theater scripts can be used by students independently and with partners.
Many of these materials also have many real world applications which are so important in showing my students the importance of what we are learning in their lives.
Thank you in advance for your donation. These materials WILL make a difference in our math instruction.
