Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students that I service are special because they come from a wide range of experiences and family traditions - we learn from each other on a daily basis. The school at which I work is located in a high poverty area of the city, the school population ranges from more Hispanic, some African American, some White, and few Asian.
Our school is lucky to have community partners that work in the building as well, so there is a plethora of adults to work with children in order to provide the best learning environment for our students.
My Project
Being able to use a small table top easel during small group work would be helpful for some of my students that may struggle with their vision. It will also be beneficial to use since the special education teachers have to use shared work space, so this would be easy to move from class to class.
The use of the privacy partitions would be helpful when we are working on tasks that require my students to have minimal distractions, such as class assessments or state mandated testing.
Some of my students even enjoy using the partitions during the day if they feel they need to be in their own space and not be distracted by their peers.
