Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My first-grade class is home to 24 eager, hardworking, six-year olds. With this being one of the grades that help bring life into their reading and writing, my hope is to give them a welcoming and comfortable place to learn.

Every day is a chance to be creative, socialize, and grow into the bright young boys and girls they are destined to be.

I hope to still leave them with a lifetime of knowledge, technology skills, and unforgettable memories.

My Project

Students work best when they are in a small group setting. This makes it possible for them to get more interactive lessons. With the support of these resources I will be able to create many small group centers to help support their reading and math skills.

Students excel when they are given the opportunity to show what they know.

With the support of these centers students will be given the opportunity to work on their fluency and be able to continue their educational growth. By having card-stock and the ability to laminate the centers students will be able to use these activities more than once. The students will be able to complete these activities in pairs rather than having to complete worksheets to learn their standards. All students work at different levels and it is important that their work is differentiated to fit their needs.
