With an ever changing world, I strive, within my classroom to make a difference in the lives of children. Our school is very family oriented and within a VERY small town. Students see teachers, principals, and other staff daily outside of the school.
The students in my class are eager to learn and LOVE to read.
I teach 22 fifth grade students. I try to make reading as fun and as engaging as possible. When students love to read it opens the opportunity to something much GREATER!
My students are from a low socioeconomic area in South Carolina. 100% of our students receive free lunch and breakfast. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My Project
Due to the many different levels of readers and mathematicians in my classroom, small groups are an integral part of our day. These materials will help us to work more efficiently in small groups allowing my students the opportunity to reach success on their personal level. The whiteboards and markers are wonderful for seeing what students know at a moment's glace. The sticky notes are very helpful when students are reading independently. As the teacher, I can give the students an assignment or something to look for when reading. These sticky notes help students complete those assignments and enables them to bring the answers back to me.
