My Students

In our classroom, we have reading workshop daily for 60 minutes. We also have writing workshop daily for another 60 minutes. Given the nature of this instruction, students are expected to read and write at their seat for an extended period of time.

My classroom is full of 29 sweet students (15 boys and 14 girls).

The school is a Title I School. This means a significant portion of the students receive a free or reduced priced lunch. Many students are at school by choice and have opted to attend our school.

My Project

The students in my classroom often work with the teacher in small groups during reading and writing time. The table top easel, markers, and sight words will help during these group times. During the group time, the students and I will work on improving literacy skills. Students love to work in small groups as they grow as readers and writers. Not only do the materials help with reading and writing skills but also help with self-esteem. As the students learn more skills, they feel more self-confidence. The easel, markers, and sight words will help with all these things and more!
