My students need a small group teaching table, because as a special education teacher, I do a lot of small group instruction. This table will allow me to reach more students effectively.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school, located in a very culturally diverse neighborhood in Queens. We service students of all backgrounds and abilities, from pre-k through 8th grade. Many students spend their pre-k, elementary, and middle school years in this building, so we get to see the community grow and create life-long bonds and friendships.
Working in this school is a privilege that I hold very near and dear because I, myself, grew up in this same zip code.
I went to school a few blocks away at a neighboring school, and I grew up with some of the parents of the children I now service.
My Project
My students learn in a collaborative integrated co-teaching environment. With two teachers in the classroom, we do a lot of small group work, and flexible seating. Flexible seating gives students the freedom to move around and not stay in their seat for extended periods of time. They're able to focus and remain engaged throughout lessons when given different seating options.
I am requesting a small group learning table, that is specifically designed for effective small group teaching.
With this table, I will be able to reach more kids in an organized, comfortable seating arrangement.
When we work in small groups, often times, we sit on the carpet, or at a small table without adequate space. Having a small group learning table, would arrange the students in a way that would allow me to reach them all at once, and gather data more effectively.
