Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have students on many different instructional levels. To make sure I am meeting all of their individual needs, I give some of my instruction in a small group format.
I teach 3 groups of 27 students reading and social studies every day.
These students come from very diverse socio-economic statuses, ability levels and ethnicities. Many of my students are considered ESL (English as a Second Language learners) or are enrolled in Special Education, but spend all or part of the day in the regular education classroom.
My Project
These materials allow small groups, which are usually between 4 and 8 students, a chance to practice skills on which those particular students need most remediation. The resources requested have multiple copies of the same texts so all students in a group have access to them. There are a mix of nonfiction and fiction texts, allowing my students access to many types of reading.
I want to provide my students with valuable instruction targeted to each student's needs.
The requested materials would make my instruction more interesting, pertinent, and effective. Please help me help my students.
