Small Group Incentives and Resources

My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds and life experiences. While with me, the students get direct small group instruction based on their individual reading needs. The younger students work on letter sounds and identification, blending letters together to make words, and sight words. While the older grades work on reading comprehension and digging deeper into a book.

All of my students need academic support in the subject of Reading in some capacity.

My Project

I am attempting to raise enough money to buy incentives for my students. We work in a small group setting for Reading. My students struggle in the area of Reading and often are discouraged to come to group because so many other times in the school they have failed at Reading. We work directly at their level and I want to reward them for the growth they are making and the positive emotions they are feeling while in my classroom.

I am also looking to raise money to buy the resources needed for my students to work independently while in my room.

The uppercase and lowercase letters will allow the students to have their own set of letters and I will be able to work with one student at a time to help their group with letter sounds and identification while in the small group.
