My students are part of the only STEAM accredited school in the district and love to learn in unique and engaging ways. They are fun, creative, and full of questions. They love hands-on and engaging projects, field trips, technology, and moving around during lessons. Every student in our classes has their own method of learning that varies from sitting in one space that is extremely organized to moving around and being active throughout the entire lesson. Learning about them while teaching them is a journey all in itself.
My Project
This project would supply my students with a new small group center where I would conduct guided reading and math each day. We currently have a smaller horse shoe shaped table that does not give the students a lot of room to move around and stay comfortable.
This new table would allow students to have their own space while visiting the small group center, which would make coming to the teacher led small group instruction more fun and inviting to visit!
Guided reading and guided math are two types of instruction we are required to have every day at our school. This means that my goal of giving my students a comfortable and inviting area is very important! My students would appreciate this new addition so very much!
