Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students serve as inspirations to all. The majority of my students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and for most of them, English is their second language. Most of them need to take advantage of the school's free breakfast and lunch program. In addition to the general education students I teach, I also work with students with disabilities. In spite of all these challenges they face, they come to school every day and work as hard as they possibly can. They inspire and motivate each other to be the very best students they can be. These students are inspirations to all. These children are our future doctors, heroes, teachers, lawyers, nurses, etc. In short, these children are our future.
My Project
My students love to learn! However, my classroom doesn't have ample space to allow flexibility in learning. Because I teach both general education students and students with disabilities, there are many adults in the classroom. While this is wonderful, it also means that the classroom is crowded. All of the adults in the room need an appropriate workspace to individually conference with students.
New desks will provide an opportunity for the teachers in the classroom to individually conference with students privately.
This will allow students to feel confident in their learning. Additionally, these new desks are smaller than our current desks which will result in more space in the room for students to learn.
