My students need basic baseball equipment. There is a large gap between the budget CPS gives us and what is actually needed to provide the basics for the players.
Our students are unbelievable kids. They are leaders in the school and in our community. They put in a ton of time and effort, often conditioning before school throughout the winter and lifting after school. In addition, they take their school work seriously. Our program boasts many honor roll students and kids with 4.0 or higher.
In addition to their hard work and dedication, our students volunteer at park districts across the city to help youngsters learn and appreciate the game of baseball.
This demonstrates their ability to be positive mentors.
My Project
Donations will go a long way to providing the equipment needed for the kids. Baseball has started to become a very expensive sport and it is our goal to take as many expenses away from families as possible. Every kid should have the chance to participate regardless of their financial situation.
By helping each student-athlete purchase their game pants we will eliminate a huge chunk of what's needed for each player's uniform cost.
We have a large program with three different levels (varsity, sophomore, freshman). Each team has roughly 20+ players. Completing our project will allow us to outfit the entire program for the upcoming season.
