My Students

My students are scientists, authors, readers, explorers, leaders, and artists. They inspire me every day with their compassion and understanding. They seem to grasp the bigger picture with amazing clarity, and always humble me with their unique perspectives about the world around them.

I'm always challenged by their thinking - and teaching them to read, lead, and think is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

I'm thankful to lead them early in their life-long walk as leaders, learners, and future world changers. My hope as their classroom teacher is that they will leave my classroom with a sense of who they are, a love of learning, a passion for books, and thoughtful perspective about the world that they live in!

My Project

My students need engaging, funny, creative chapter books to pique their interest as they move into second grade. My students are becoming independent readers and are discovering interesting books that appeal to who they each are, and are rapidly reading everything that is put in front of them.

These readers are ready to delve into challenging texts, creative storylines, and to meet memorable characters!

They are eager to engage in the world of great series books that will leave a lasting mark on their reading world. They love to read humorous stories with relatable characters, and they would love to meet the characters in these books!
