I want to welcome my incoming 9th-10th graders into a classroom where they can thrive! My students all receive special education services and will be enrolled in my Algebra 1 class in order to receive more support in accessing the general ed curriculum. These are resilient, passionate students. Their strength and perseverance navigating the challenges of high school--while learning to advocate for their unique learning styles--is so inspiring!
My students are learning how to articulate their needs and draw on their strengths in order to reach their goals-Algebra often feels like a huge road block and my goal is to make it enjoyable and achievable for them!
I have students who want to become judges, police officers, and veterinarians--and I'm so proud of them!
I'm excited for my new Algebra 1 class to work in groups, rotate through learning centers, and research real-world applications of topics learned. I want to create a classroom that is vibrant, welcoming, and well-stocked with basic supplies! This is a new class designed for students who require a smaller class setting and/or more intensive individualized instruction and pacing in order to progress in the curriculum. Since this is a new class I haven't taught before, we are in need of some basic start up supplies.
We need poster project paper, markers, scissors, glue, pencils, file folders for classwork, some fun math games and more to get our class up and running!
