This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I love my student athletes. They are extremely special, talented and gifted. Not only educationally but athletically as well. I've only been coaching for two and a half years and already have 3 championships with these amazing students. They deserve the world because they give so much and ask for so little. We are a charter school that compete on a big name school level, such as the "isd" school in our area. Coaching them is extremely easy as they allow for me to teach them. They want to get better and to be their best selves.

My Project

In the past, our students would run at the track and field meets in extremely cold temperatures, which prevents them from performing at peak levels. Their lack of focus on the track and field meets decreases their chances for success. Having compression pants and tops will keep students warm as they prepare for their competitions. This project is important for these students because they work tirelessly in the classroom and competing in track and field is their athletic outlet. Ensuring that our student-athletes are well prepared for the changing temperatures will contribute to their success in and outside of the classroom.
