I have 7 students assigned to me in the inclusion classroom, on the special education side and my co-teacher has 11 general education students. We have a total of 18 students in the inclusion classroom. The students range from 3 - 5 years of age, the 7 students on my side of the classroom all have a diagnosis from developmental delays to a specific learning disabilities.
My students are happy and willing to learn from myself and their co-teacher along with their peers, they just need a little extra help along the way to help them be successful.
The students are curious, caring, resilient, along with being honest and trust worthy. Everyday they come to school wanting to play and learn, and while they are here I want to be able to give them the tools to be able to reach their full potential.
The weighted blankets will help those students who struggle to rest during nap time. The weighted blankets will helps students to reduce anxiety, increase attention, provide comfort and provide sleep quality.
Some of the students in my classroom have a more difficult time than others when it comes to falling asleep at nap time.
My hope is that the weighted blankets will help those students who do struggle to sleep, will feel comforted, and fall to sleep ready to participate in the last couple of hours of instruction in a more productive mood.
